Value engineering preferred technical solutions for the first Rail Baltica project section in Estonia have been finalised
A collaborator of RB Rail AS, Spanish engineering firm IDOM Consulting Engineering, has completed the technical design solutions for the detailed location of the Pärnu-Rapla railway section and its intersections, spanning from the border of Harju county to Tootsi. The Alu-Mälivere section shown in the video is 14.1 kilometers long.
The approximately 71 kilometers long railway section is entirely double-tracked, has five railway bridges, 19 road viaducts, one railway viaduct, 12 eco-ducts and more than hundred culverts.
There are four regional stops planned along the route in Kohila, Rapla, Järvakandi and Kaisma. Rail Balitc Estonia OÜ will continue the development of these stops in the near future.
All of the technical solutions of the project have been introduced to local municipalities that are within the route corridor. However, the design solutions will be finalised once all the comments to the environmental impact assessment have been considered.
The railway section project spanning from the border of Harju county to Tootsi village is set to be completed in 2021. Rail Baltic Estonia OÜ and the Estonian Road Administration have already started preparations for procurement tenders for the construction of the road viaducts.
It is estimated construction of the road viaducts and the eco-ducts will begin in 2021.
