1. Why does RB Rail AS process your personal data?
RB Rail AS, registration number 40103845025, legal address: K. Valdemāra iela 8-7, Riga, Latvia, LV–1010, (the “RB Rail”), aims to implement a new railway infrastructure project that would integrate the Baltic States into the European rail network.
In order to ensure the implementation of the project and its monitoring, for RB Rail it is necessary to carry out the processing of personal data of its partners, associated experts, tied subcontractors and their employees.
The performance of RB Rail functions is inevitably also linked to the collection and processing of personal data, for example, so that public procurement procedures can be carried out, and for RB Rail to be able to assess the submitted proposals, we need to find out your identity, qualifications, contact details.
In order to meet the requirements of regulatory enactments
In general, the processing of personal data is carried out to enable RB Rail to carry out a railway infrastructure project and to ensure that RB Rail's day-to-day activities are also processed by its partners, associated experts, affiliated subcontractors and their employees, and the processing of such personal data is in accordance with the law.
To conclude and execute a contract
There may also be situations where RB Rail needs your data to be able to enter into a contract with you and implement the terms of the contract.

Video surveillance at RB Rail facilities can be carried out for public safety and order, prevention or detection of criminal offences related to property protection and the protection of vital interests of persons. You will be informed of the appropriate warning signs.
Commercial communications
RB Rail is processing your personal data if RB Rail has your consent. Personal data for commercial communications, marketing activities and similar activities are used by RB Rail only with your consent.
2. How does RB Rail get your personal data?
Your personal data, RB Rail, is obtained in different ways:
- from you;
- from national databases (if in accordance with regulatory enactments this information is available and necessary for RB Rail);
- from third parties, if such information is provided for in regulatory enactments or if you have agreed to it yourself.
In rare cases, when RB Rail offers a service that is not provided for by law, your data may only be processed on the basis of your consent.
3. Security of personal data
RB Rail shall take appropriate measures to ensure that personal data which are at its disposal or which you have transmitted to it are safe and that the processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the laws and regulations. At the time of the submission of personal data, you are entitled to information on why RB Rail your data is necessary, in most cases this information will be provided on the applications you complete. You also have the right to follow the process of processing your personal data. For how to request RB Rail information on your personal data at its disposal, see section 5.
Without your consent, RB Rail may disclose personal data only in the cases specified in the laws, for example by providing information to the national databases, in response to official requests from law enforcement authorities or in other cases where this is necessary for the defense of RB Rail's rights and interests. For the provision of certain services and rights, RB Rail's personal data may be transferred to different service providers under the responsibility for the confidentiality of the data and may only be processed by service providers in accordance with RB Rail's instructions.
In addition, RB Rail may be obliged to transfer your personal data to the supervising authorities of the project.
We do not transfer or process personal data provided by you outside the European Union and the European Economic Area.
4. Storage of personal data
Personal data RB Rail shall store for the period specified in the regulatory enactments or until the target for which the data were collected has been reached. The personal data that you have provided on the basis of your consent shall be stored by RB Rail until the purpose of collecting the data has been achieved or when you withdraw your consent.
Video surveillance records shall be stored for a maximum of 30 days. The entries are deleted automatically in chronological order from the time of the entry. Individual records may be retained for a longer period if this is necessary to achieve certain objectives, such as incidents and infringement investigations.
5. Your rights
You have the right to refer to RB Rail and to request information on whether and what your personal data RB Rail is processed by submitting an application in person, producing a personal identification document or by sending an digitally signed document. The answer to your submission will be provided by RB Rail in accordance with the procedures and time limits specified in the regulatory enactments.
If you have provided your own information and if you believe that the information about you is incomplete or incorrect, you have the right to ask for adjustments to your personal data or to ask for them to be deleted if you no longer agree with the processing of your personal data and RB Rail has no other legal basis to process your data. In most cases, RB Rail does not have the right to completely delete your personal data, as their storage conditions are set out in the regulatory enactments. RB Rail will delete your data if it no longer has a legal basis to process them or if your personal data at its disposal has not been processed legally.
You have the right to turn and ask to limit or stop your data processing. RB Rail will evaluate the basis and extent of the data to be processed.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are created and stored on your Internet user's device (computer, tablet, mobile phone, etc.) when you visit RB Rail Internet sites. Cookies “remember” your experience and basic information and thus improve the convenience of using RB Rail's website. Cookies process the history of using an Internet site, diagnose problems and shortcomings in the functioning of the site, collect statistics on user habits, and ensure that the functionality of the site is fully and easily used.
